The states of Guernsey will provide funding for off-island gender affirming care if they have a gender affirming certificate.

Because this treatment is provided off-island, islanders are subject to UK law.

Islanders are free to also have privately funded gender affirming care.

Whilst Puberty Blockers are not outright banned, the states of Guernsey will not fund for minors to receive them so they would have to fund for them privately.

When registering a child, intersex birth entries are permitted and birth certificates are not restricted to male and female in Guernsey however because British passports are used, male or female has to be chosen for those

LGBT people are protected from employment and housing discrimination in accordance to the Prevention of Discrimination (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2022 and they are protected by The Prevention of Harassment (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2005. However offensive hateful behaviour in Guernsey only is completely and outright illegal if it is racially motivated, The Racial Hatred (Bailiwick of Guernsey) 2005

Any surgery in Guernsey for children under 16 requires the parents to sign a consent form. Healthcare on island is paid for.

Circumcision for boys is performed on island only if it is essential i.e. disease. Other types of surgery surrounding infant genitalia could result in an off-island referral. Specialists are expected make an informed decision with parental approval based on would is best for the long-term health of the child.
