The aim of FLay was to provide a point of contact for all gays and lesbians in the country, to offer counselling for coming out problems and to break down prejudices against homosexuality. This was tackled above all with regular meetings, information stands, visits to schools, a stand at the Fürstenfest, advertisements and also with (discreet) internal events. Although the association also had to contend with prejudice and accusations from society and church circles at all times, FLay's political work was also launched with the revision of sexual criminal law. 25 September 2007 was another historic day in FLay's past. The Free List's motion for a registered partnership called on the government to draw up a bill on same-sex partnerships. The partnership law finally came into force on 1 September 2011 and was approved by the people with 68.8% of the vote following a referendum on 19 June
