- Status is not correct "Don't ask don't tell - American policy. It is wholly inappropriate to reference what is obviously a policy of another country, but further as your own "data" shows, from direct quotations, GLBT do in fact serve in the military.
Please also recall that on multiple occasions President V. Putin has consistently stated that any ideology or attitudes of superiority or that would look at others as inferior as fundamentally the beliefs of those who should be considered radical, ludicrous, or the beliefs of outright lunatics.
Additionally, Putin has stated that he personally has awarded medals, commendations, and honors to GLBT individuals, and
has even gone so far as to effectively remind the Church (which some 70-80% of Russians belong), that matters like those of the rights of GLBT, abortion, divorce, etc, are matters of state, not influenced by religious figures. "
