- Note field is incorrect "There has been no new law. The Supreme Federal Court ruled that homophobia should be considered racism for the effects of criminal law.
From the Reuters article already cited (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-brazil-homophobia/brazil-supreme-court-rules-homophobia-a-crime-idUSKCN1TF02N/): "The Brazilian Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that homophobia should be criminalized under existing legislation (...), Eight of 11 justices voted to treat homophobia in the same way as racism under Brazilian law, making it a criminal act.".
It should be described as: "homophobia is considered illegal, falling under the purview of the crime of racism." rather than mentioning a whole new law that simply doesn't exist."
- Note field is incorrect "is it considered as bad as racism, not a crime of racism"

Reports (1)
- Status is not correct "It’s not a new law, it’s a Supreme Court ruling that extended the legal protections conferred to racism to crimes of homophobia. The court understood that the legislative branch was running late on its constitutional obligation to legislate on homophobia and, meanwhile, extended to it the legal protections reserved to racism. So far, the ruling has not been overturned nor has the legislative approved any laws on the matter, so the ruling is still in full force."
