DescriptionOn May 28th 2024, the French Senate voted to ban certain medical interventions for minors. Hormone replacement therapy and reassignment surgeries are now reserved for adults.

Minors can receive puberty blockers at the age of 12 only if they have been seen for at least 6 months by a psychologist and have written consent from both parents. In extreme cases where the minor's mental health is in jeopardy, HRT might be authorized after the case has been evaluated by a medical committee.
