Description | In June 2021, the possibility of drafting legislation to ban medically unnecessary surgery on intersex children began to be discussed by an "inter-ministerial working group". However, in August 2023, it was declared by the Minister of Health that the task of drafting such legislation would have to fall to the next government, given that the working group had not yet agreed on the scope of the ban. |
