Reports (3)
  • Newer law has been passed "Source broken, better source: https://lgbt.dk/en/denmark-opens-up-to-legal-gender-change-for-minors/ Also note that the CPR system assigns even or odd civil registry numbers based on the registered gender, making the choice quite literally binary. Non-binary gender markers are not supported and immigrants, e.g. coming from Germany, can face administrative chaos and uncertainty if their passport's gender-marker denotes an X. "
  • Other "Only people over 18 can change legal gender."
  • Other "The law does not allow for gender it allows for sex change like we have male female not they them it"

DescriptionBy Danish naming-legislation, a man cannot have a woman's name, or vice versa. I am transgendered and had surgery over a decade ago in Denmark, and my legal status was changed even before I was out of the hospital. This has been the case for Denmark since sex changes became an option. Denmark's historic new law allows citizens to self-determine their own gender identity without any requirements for medical or psychiatric intervention.
