Also note that the CPR system assigns even or odd civil registry numbers based on the registered gender, making the choice quite literally binary. Non-binary gender markers are not supported and immigrants, e.g. coming from Germany, can face administrative chaos and uncertainty if their passport's gender-marker denotes an X. "

Description | By Danish naming-legislation, a man cannot have a woman's name, or vice versa. I am transgendered and had surgery over a decade ago in Denmark, and my legal status was changed even before I was out of the hospital.
