DescriptionBefore 2024, it was illegal to discuss gay relationships with a minor.

In 2009, Lithuania's president signed into law an amendment to the Law on the Protection of Minors against the Detrimental Effects of Public Information that banned spreading information that would promote sexual relations or other conceptions of concluding a marriage or creating a family other than established in the Constitution or the Civil Code.

In Lithuania, same-sex marriage has been banned by the constitution since 1992, and therefore this amendment banned discussions of gay relationships with children.
