Description | In 1992, Alabama passed a law that prohibited schools from teaching that homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle and required that schools teach that it is illegal in the state. In 2003 the US Supreme Court under LAWRENCE V. TEXAS made unconstitutional state anti-sodomy laws. Regardless, teachers in Alabama still had to emphasize that homosexuality was illegal until it was repealed in 2021. |
