- Status is not correct "The proposal is not to recognise a third gender, but to eliminate the practice of embedding a binary gender-specific 2 digit code into national ID numbers assigned when births are registrered -- these numbers don't change when legal gender markers change for trans people, which creates problems. The idea is to make the ID numbers neutral. "
